The Board of the Icelandic Human Rights Institute is elected by Alþingi (the Icelandic Parliament) for a four-year term. The role of the Board is to shape the priorities of the Institute in consultation with the Director and to monitor the activities and operations of the Institute.
The board also has the role of appointing the director and advisory board.
The current board was elected by the Alþingi in November 2025.
