The Board of the Icelandic Human Rights Institute is elected by Alþingi (the Icelandic Parliament) for a four-year term. The role of the Board is to set strategic priorities in consultation with the Director and to monitor the operations and governance of the Institute.
The board also has the role of appointing the director and Advisory Board.
The current board was elected by Alþingi in November 2025.
